Early on, we discovered that the intended build site was too close to a floodplain, which meant the soil was too soft to support the foundation. Leaving the home in the original spot would have forced the clients to pay a significant amount in extra construction costs to meet flood plain requirements, as well as mandatory, ongoing flood insurance.
To save these clients’ money and protect their investment, the Pathway Builders team stepped in to resolve the issue. We moved the home’s location on the property a couple of times until we found the perfect, firm ground that kept them safely out of the floodplain. By shifting the location, we successfully avoided those extra insurance costs and construction fees, thus saving them thousands of dollars.
Despite the site-prep movement at the beginning, the actual build phase moved seamlessly and was delivered on time.
