Build Location: Sweet, Idaho [Gem County]
Home Plan: Paradise, Modern House Plan

Project Background: New Home Build In Sweet, Idaho
These clients originally relocated from California to Idaho several years ago and had purchased land in Sweet with plans to build a home in the future when the time was right. With the idea to create a retreat away from their primary residence in Eagle, Idaho, they contact us to review their options and start the process of their new home build in Sweet.
After reviewing our available house plans, this couple selected the Paradise home plan (one of our most popular plans). They liked the open floor plan and modern elements of the plan and it fit well with other customization they wanted to add. The layout of the Paradise plan also enabled them to take advantage of the beautiful views they had on their property.
Customization and Special Requests
This new home build in Sweet was not the first time these clients had built a home, so they had an idea of what they were looking for and several upgrades and customizations they wanted to make. One of the customizations added to this home build was a three car garage versus the standard house plan inclusion of two. They also wanted additional outdoor living space and decided to enlarge the back covered patio space. Another great way to take advantage of their views!
Inside they decided to add a gas fireplace in the main living area. They also upgraded the flooring in their new home to luxury vinyl plank in all areas except the bathrooms where they added tile flooring, and bedrooms, where they opted to keep carpet.
They also elected to upgrade plumbing fixtures and lighting to black finish and use full tile in the shower. In the garage they also added an electric vehicle charging outlet. Additionally, they decided to add solar panels to their home in an effort to create a more self-sustaining and energy efficient home. To achieve this end, our team coordinated with their solar panel installation company during the build to make the process seamless and not add any additional time to their new home build.
Challenges Working On This New Home Build In Sweet
This project went very well from start to finish, with just one hiccup related to zoning causing a short pause in construction. The issue encountered was an easement discrepancy, which was required for road access. To resolve this issue, our team helped to facilitate another survey of the property and the resolution with the county.
Outcome
In the end, after resolving the issue with road access, this new home build in Sweet was completed within the estimated time to completion and the clients were thrilled to have completed their home in Sweet allowing them to take advantage of the beautiful views and the serenity of their property.
